How To Overcome Fear

Lean into it.
99 percent of the things we’re afraid of aren’t life threatening. But we respond like we’re in danger and so our survival instincts kick in.
Our fight, flight or freeze responses were useful in caveman days. They aren’t as helpful in modern life unless, of course, you really are in a life or death situation.
So next time you feel those fear responses kick in, experiment with overriding them.
Nudge yourself to walk towards the fear so you can develop a healthier relationship with it.
We don’t want to overcome fear, we want to learn from it. Make friends with it. We want to get more comfortable being outside our comfort zone.
Why?
Because that’s where the magic in life happens.
Hello Lovely ~
How are you?
I’m feeling a little anxious because I’m about to embark on an experiment.
I want to give a quick shoutout to my friend Kristine who is always doing experiments. She is my inspiration to try some myself.
I’ve been getting an intuitive hit for a few months now that I’ve ignored out of fear.
My motto has always been to “walk towards the fear”. So I am finally listening to my intuition’s instructions.
I am going to give a couple of weeks to my body. Meaning I am going to ask my body to decide what we do each day.
I shared my experiment idea with someone and their response was, “Good luck with that.” lol
I get it.
My head is currently freaking out. It has gotten used to making most of my decisions.
I know I let my head lead the way out of societal conditioning and fear. I am not thrilled that I do this.
But most importantly, my midlife body has had just about enough of this dynamic. My mind is wearing me out.
So this experiment will be a first step. The goal is to get more comfortable dropping down into my body. to make some of my daily life decisions.
As you may know, the Universe will bring the magic when you start listening to your intuition. I got some valuable guidance right before I sat down to write to you.
It is an exercise I will be using to help me conduct my experiment.
- I’m sure my mind will want to take the lead. So, I’ll let her thoughts flow for a minute to help her feel calm.
- Then I’ll take a deep breath and focus on dropping down into my body.
- From there I’ll feel into my heart space for guidance on what to do.
I expect to do this several times a day.
I’ve done this exercise in the past but had forgotten about it.
The synchronistic timing, reminding me of it today, is Universal magic in action.
As an added reminder my experiment mantra will be “go below the neck”.
